Difference between dating exclusively and boyfriend
I have a handful of friends here in Tokyo that are dating, engaged to, or married to people here in Japan and all of us have different “how I met my boyfriend” or “how I met my girlfriend” stories.
Some of these stories have little nuggets of wisdom for if you’re trying to meet someone in Japan; some don’t.
Life doesn’t come with convenient signposts letting us know which is the path to happiness and which is the path to misery, so we’re stuck taking blind gambles. And we frequently end up with regrets that we carry to our graves.
He’s apparently a great guy who will be a good father and husband — and he’s more financially stable — but the things she likes about him are mostly in her head, not her heart.
He needs her — and wants her — so much that she feels guilty.
The first guy is about to move to the other side of the country.
Has been to 20 Dave Matthews Band concerts, or despises them. But learn him naturally before you show him that you’re a boring, lesbian, republican, Dave Matthews Band fanatic. Most importantly, you need to make sure he is comfortable with this being public knowledge and you need to be OK if he is not!
The fact of the matter is, when you date in another country, it can be difficult to find a partner.
